Large, early 5-tier (plus drawer) Globe Wernicke stackable bookcase, circa 1905, with provenance. Antique kitchen chairs Depth: 37cmA super Globe Wernicke stacking bookcase, including 5 shelves, a drawer and top, circa 1905. According to the auction I bought it from, it belonged to Dr. Peter Aubrey Sabine (1924 1922), a leading geologist you can read a detailed obituary here. 4 of the shelves have glazed fronts, the bottom one has a wooden front with an extra removable shelf inside. Each section graduates from small to large from the top, with a 'waterfall' side profile and brass
