and the city's wide streets allowed the facades to be viewed in all their glory

Cable trams, hansom cabs, horse drawn drays, automobiles and pedestrians are all moving in different directions without a single traffic light in sight. At this period, the spectacular architecture of Collins Street had probably reached its zenith. Unfortunately, a lot of the major buildings in Collins
