Dated 1766 European Chest w/ Iron Hardware & Strap Hinges, Initials Shaker J" in the bottom rightThese pieces were typically handed down through the families, judging from the construction, this chest is late 17th century, and given as a wedding piece at the later date 1766. With all original hand forged iron hardware and rose head nails. Strap hinges applied to dovetailed corners, and to the flat top lid. The chest has a spring loaded crab lock that opens with its original key. Dated "Ano 1766" and Initialed KAD Original lock works, due to age
